Work a shop, a warranty or a recall paid for
Covered work is recorded line by line, and left out of what the owner spent.
Not every line on an invoice was paid by the owner. Warranty repairs, recall work and goodwill work are recorded as line items like any other, tagged as covered by the shop, a warranty or a recall.
Covered lines are left out of documented spend, so the total reflects what the owner actually paid. On a records page they're shown separately, so a buyer can see what was covered without mistaking it for the owner's spending.
A recall reference is recorded exactly as the invoice prints it. Vinfirm doesn't look the campaign number up with the manufacturer: it reports what the paperwork says.
