When paperwork looks like it's for a different car
A different VIN, make or year on the pages is flagged, and saving asks you to say you've checked.
While reading, Vinfirm compares the pages with the car you're adding them to. A full, valid VIN that doesn't match is flagged. Without a usable VIN, a year more than one off, a different make or a different model line is flagged too. A matching VIN settles it, and a partial VIN never counts as a mismatch.
A flag is a warning, not a refusal. The details and confirm steps show it, and to save the record you tick a box saying you've checked the pages and they're paperwork for this car.
The warning stays with the record. Adding another car's paperwork is against the Terms (section 06), so if the pages really are for a different car, add them to that car instead.
